Grand National 2011 Tips
Here are a selection of tips for the Grand National 2011 including a tip for the favourite, an each-way bet and an outside chance. These tips are the opinions of our betting expert who follows racing throughout the year, studying the form of all the horses taking part. Everybody loves a tip for the Grand National, so we hope that ours prove successful to you if you decide to use them.
Grand National Tip for Winner - Oscar Time (12/1)
Oscar Time looks a great bet for this year's National having finished runner-up in the 2010 Irish Grand National. This Irish 10-year-old is displaying all the right trends for winning this world-famous steeple chase having shown he can do it over the distance at Leopardstown in 2009. Surely 2011 is Oscar Time's best chance having just been bought by the owners of Long Run - who won the Cheltenham Gold Cup last month.
Grand National Tip for Each Way - Merigo (33/1)
Meringo has proven that he can win under pressure, having taken the Scottish National in 2010. Meringo led from the front early in that race and was brought home in some style by Timmy Murphy ahead of a quality field. This isn't the only example of his ability over distance, with a solid win at Eider in 2009. This horse is looking excellent value to be placed at Aintree in the Grand National having never fallen in a race in his career.
Grand National Tip for Outside Chance - Vic Venturi (50/1)
Vic Venturi is a volatile horse who had a wobble at the first in last year's National and then eventually went on to unseat his rider at fence 20. That being said, his jockey said he was going really well at that point and felt the horse had a real chance had he not fallen. The thing I like about Vic Venturi's profile is that it is similar to last year's runner up - Black Apalachi, so there is an outside chance that 2011 could be his year.
