Poland flagA bill has been passed in the Polish Parliament that will restrict gambling to licensed land-based casinos within the country.

Gambling in any other way will be strictly prohibited, which is a huge blow for online casinos that have been established in Poland for some time.

The new laws have come into place following a scandal which saw seven leading politicians leave office for lobbying to block increases in taxes for gambling operators.

In attempt to protect his parties reputation, PM Tusk has help push through the new laws in a bid to fight corruption in the country.

"Barring any surprises, I hope the president will be able to affix his signature as of November 30," Tusk told reporters.

The implications of the new law does not only affect the online world, as services stations, bars and clubs with slot machines will have to have them removed when the law comes into place. An estimated 50,000 machines are believed to be in operation around the country.

Under 18’s will not be able to gamble in any way under the new law.
