Platini odds shortened as race to be next FIFA president heats up
Written on Wednesday 3rd June, 7:12 am by admin
FIFABookmakers have shortened odds on Platini to become the next FIFA president despite no suggestion that he intends to run for the next FIFA president.

Both Befair and Skybet have Platini at 2/1 to replace Sepp Blatter following his resignation yesterday as the head of the world football governing body.

Clear favourite is Jordanian-candidate Prince Ali Al-Hussein, who was the only person to challenge Blatter at the previous FIFA election on Friday. His odds are evens with Paddy Power and 6/4 with William Hill.

Slightly further down the list is ex-Manchester Utd chief executive David Gill at 14/1 with Paddy Power. Gary Lineker also makes the list at 100/1 with bwin.

Despite handing in his notice yesterday Sepp Blatter also finds himself in the betting odds at 100/1 with bwin. Although you would have to think that is distinct non possibility now that he is quit and is potentially going to be dragged into the investigation surrounding possible corruption at FIFA.
