| Pakistan Favourites to Edge England in First Test |
Pakistan are firm favourites to win the First Test Match of the series against England after a disappointing start at the crease for the touring party in Dubai. It only took six overs this morning for England to lose their first wicket in the United Arab Emirates in the form of Alistair Cook for a disheartening 3. Cook’s efforts to continue to form of 2011 failed miserably as he was caught behind by Pakistan wicket keeper Adnan Akmal after a delightful delivery from spinner Mohammad Hafeez.
England continued to struggle and lost Jonathan Trott, Andrew Strauss, Ian Bell and Kevin Pietersen to finish 52-5 at the lunch interval without any batsman really staying at the crease for too long. The ship has been steadied slightly with England only losing Eoin Morgan and Stuart Broad to enter the tea interval at 139 for 7.
Stan James now has Pakistan listed at 4/7 to win the match. England are available at 7/2 to obtain victory from the clutches of defeat. Sky Bet is offering odds of 4/7 on Graeme Swann being the next man to be out whilst Matt Prior is at 5/4.
The start to the opening Test Match has even had an impact on what the bookmakers think will happen for the rest of the series. Betfair is now offering Pakistan to win the entire series at 13/25 with England to win at 223/100 and a draw at 257/100.
