|Nottingham Couple Finally Pick Up £1 Million EuroMillions Prize|
A couple from Nottingham were celebrating this week after finally picking up their £1 million EuroMillions Raffle prize that they won on Friday 23rd March, 2012.
Alan and Kim Elliot from Aspley in Nottingham purchased the winning ticket from J&S News on Nuthall Road. However, they put the ticket on their fridge after purchase and simply forgot to check the numbers for two months.
Mr Elliot stated "I was only talking with my colleagues about what we'd do if we won the lottery not knowing that sitting in my kitchen was a real life-changing slip of paper."
Mr Elliot only realised he had won when he eventually took a load of old tickets to his local newsagents to check their results and it was then that the shopkeeper informed him of his huge win.
"I thought she was pulling my leg but her boss came over and called Camelot for me as I couldn't think. I couldn't even write my name I was shaking so much." Mr Elliot said.
The couple celebrated their win with a bottle of champagne and a Chinese takeaway. Mr Elliot said that he wanted to spend some of the money on a new Range Rover and hopefully have more time to play golf.
In the EuroMillions Raffle draw, players must match their unique raffle number at the bottom of the ticket with the one revealed in the draw. On Friday 23rd March, 2012, the winning raffle number was LHZ360128.
