Malaysian Shop Raided for Illegal Gambling: 42 Arrested

Forty one men and one woman have been arrested for gambling in the back of a shop in a district of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur’s vice, gambling and secret society investigation department apprehended four Malay nationals and 38 Indonesians aged between 19-65.

"Police raided the place at 9.15pm and found them playing the 'bola gelek' game at the back of a sundry shop in the area," said officer DSP Razali Abu Samah

Many of those caught in the raid did not have official papers or identification and could have been working in the country illegally.

Police seized RM7,723 in cash and paraphernalia from gambling games.
