Betfred logoLiverpool were made favourites for the FA Cup this weekend after beating Manchester United 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday.

An 88th minute winner from Dirk Kuyt sealed the win for Liverpool that has now made them 7/2 favourites to win the FA Cup with bookmakers Betfred. The win came just days after Liverpool beat Manchester City in the League Cup semi final to book their place in the final on Sunday 26th February, 2012 against Cardiff.

Despite dominating possession, Manchester United failed to capitalize on their chances and fell behind in the 21st minute to a Daniel Agger header after some dodgy keeping from United’s number 1, David De Gea. The Red Devils then equalised through Park Ji Sung just before half time but Kuyt’s late finish after a nod down from Andy Carroll sealed the win to send Liverpool into the 5th Round and Manchester United out of the cup.

Betfred have listed Tottenham as second favourites at 3/1 even though Spurs looked anything but convincing in a 1-0 win against Championship side Watford in a game that even Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp claimed his side were lucky to win. Chelsea beat London rivals QPR 1-0 at Loftus Road and are available as third favourites at 10/3 with Betfred.

The most exciting game of the weekend saw Arsenal come back from being 2-0 down at half time to beat Aston Villa 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium. Betfred now has Arsenal at 11/2 to win the FA Cup.

There was also an upset at the KC Stadium where Nicky Barmby’s Hull lost to League Two side Crawley. Crawley have been rewarded with a home tie against Premiership Stoke and are listed at 200/1 by Betfred to win the whole competition.

For those romantics that fancy backing an outsider, Stevenage are available at 400/1 to win the cup. They will have to defy the impossible and start by beating Tottenham at home in the 5th Round.

The draw for the 5th Round of the FA Cup is as follows…

Chelsea v Birmingham
Crawley Town v Stoke
Everton v Blackpool/Sheff Wed
Liverpool v Brighton
Millwall/Southampton v Bolton
Norwich v Leicester
Stevenage v Tottenham
Sunderland/Middlesbrough v Arsenal
