| Ladbrokes Executive Suspended Amid Internal Investigation |
A high-profile Ladbrokes executive was suspended this week after it emerged his was being investigated for the manner in which he ran his department within the company.Jon Thompson, Ladbrokes Director of Trading, was temporarily relieved of his duties after an internal investigation was launched into his methods of running the department amid claims that he was not doing his job properly.
Not many details have been released regarding the investigation and Ladbrokes released a statement saying "This is an ongoing staff matter".
Thompson is reasonably new to his role at Ladbrokes having only joined the team in February 2011. He had previously held a role at the troubled online casino Bodog Casino before moving onto his role with Ladbrokes. He had held the position of Head of Global Trading at Bodog Casino.
As part of his role as Director of Trading at Ladbrokes, Thompson oversees his department’s involvement in automation, live betting, customer profiling, organisational restructuring and company trading.
More news regarding the investigation is expected in the coming days and the online gambling industry awaits with baited breath for the reasons behind the suspension which comes at a time when Ladbrokes is about to enter its busiest period of the year with Euro 2012 and Royal Ascot just around the corner.
