Edgewater HotelPatrons of a Nevada casino were left completely shocked when a speeding car came crashing through a front doors, killing two and injuring at least eight according to authorities.

The 70-year-old driver, who survived the crash, told officers on the scene that he had fainted at the wheel and could not remember anything about the incident.

Witnesses recall an out-of-control Pontiac Vibe passing through a series of red lights before heading up the horseshoe drive of the Edgewater Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. It then smashed straight through the entrance of the building at an estimated speed of 60mph. The car eventually came to a stop after ploughing into a bank of slot machines, 35 feet into the casino.

"Slot machines were just everywhere, just wiped out, tumbled and tossed," said Bill Kinsey, fire division chief in Bullhead City, Ariz., across the river from Laughlin.

Authorities said the man has been held on two counts of felony reckless driving causing death.
