|Donald Trump in Talks with 888.com|
US casino tycoon Donald Trump confirmed that he was in talks with online gambling firm 888.com about a partnership deal that will see Trump’s operations move into an online domain.
The deal is believed to be specifically focused on Trump utilizing 888.com’s technology for a poker operation that will allow the casino mogul to offer an online poker service for US players in the near future.
Both companies have kept their cards close to their chest on this deal with both parties stating that they are in talks with a number of groups over a diverse range of opportunities.
At the end of 2011, Trump set up a deal with hedge fund giant Marc Lasry in a move that was anticipating the legalisation of online gambling and betting in the US.
Shortly after the deal Trump stated “This has to happen because many other countries are doing it & like usual the U.S. is just missing out. It seems inevitable, but with this country you never know if it’s inevitable.”
Shares in 888.com have experienced a surge of interest in recent weeks as speculation regarding a possible deal between the online gambling firm and Trump’s operations grows stronger. A partnership deal between the two groups now looks closer than ever.
