Diddy and Mark WahlbergUS music and movie A-listers Diddy and Mark Wahlberg hit the headlines this week after they agreed to place a $250,000 bet each on who will prevail as the winner in the Floyd Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao boxing fight this coming weekend.

In a video that was posted on Instagram, Diddy is seen suggesting a $100,000 bet to his friend Wahlberg stating that he thinks Mayweather will come out of the bout as the winner. However, Wahlberg disagreed and not only backed Pacquiao to win the fight but also increased the stakes to a $250,000 wager.

The two men are not the first celebrities to place bets on the upcoming bout which is being promoted as the “Fight of the Century”. Rapper 50 Cent claimed back in March that he was planning on placing a bet to the value of $1.6 million backing Mayweather to defeat Pacquiao.

American boxer Adrien Broner has also publicly stated that he has put a $10,000 wager on Mayweather to win and could even look to increase that bet to $50,000 closer to the fight which is expected to gross over $300 million.

Ahead of the clash, Pacquiao commented "I'm very excited and my confidence is 100%. Any time I am the underdog, I like that. It means my killer instinct and focus is fully there. This is the moment I believe he will experience his first loss."

Mayweather stated "I really want to win and mentally I have to go back to where it all started from because he's not just any other fighter.”

He added "I don't feel like there's anything I can't accomplish and that's why I'm pushing myself to the limit right now.”

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will meet this Saturday night at the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas.
