British Public against TV Gambling Ads

Gambling imageThe majority of the British public are against the screening of gambling adverts on national television, a research by YouGov has found.

In the survey taken by the government website it was found that over 75% of the British public do not want to see gambling adverts on television or adverts that relate to payday loans.

The survey also asked the British public their thoughts on the content of other adverts shown on national television. Almost 80% of those asked said they want to see less cigarette adverts on television.

It was also clear that over 66% of the British public are fed up of seeing adverts on national television about commercials for injury lawyers and adverts that promote cosmetic surgery.

The British public were also asked about what adverts they find most acceptable. Only 15% wanted to see less adverts of children’s toys and only 11% think that universities should not be allowed to advertise on television.
