Another British player was celebrating a huge EuroMillions win this weekend after securing the £148.7 million jackpot win.The latest win on Friday 10th August, 2012 was the country’s second largest ever lottery win behind Colin and Chris Weir who won £161 million last summer. It also means that British players have won over £400 million in prize money over the past 8 months.
The winner can now claim to be richer than the likes of Prince Harry, singer Adele and actor Daniel Radcliffe.
The lottery organisers confirmed that the winner had come forward to claim their prize but before the prize money could be transferred the winning ticket needed to be validated.
A spokesperson for the lottery said "It's amazing to have another big EuroMillions win in the UK – the seventh jackpot to be won here this year. We are looking forward to welcoming the ticket holder into our millionaires club, joining the 2,900 millionaires created by the National Lottery to date.”
The winning numbers for Friday’s draw were 11, 17, 21, 48 and 50 with the Lucky Stars numbers of 9 and 10.
The Lottery spokesman continued "In addition to the fantastic run of luck with big winners in 2012, EuroMillions players are also making a difference to communities across the UK, contributing to the £30 million raised every week for National Lottery Good Causes."
