| Bookmaker Suspends Betting on Susan Boyle Christmas No1 |
Susan Boyle’s appearance on X Factor was enough for bookmaker William Hill to suspend betting on her being No1 in the charts at Christmas.The Reality TV star, famous for her showbiz strops and incredible voice, is set to release a number of tracks from her new album, which was released this week. In the first day it shifted 130,000 copies and looks set to reach 500,000 by the end of the week.
William Hill were not sure if her popularity had slipped away after she burst onto the world stage with her performance on Britain's Got Talent earleir this year. However, after seeing the figures from her album sales, they quickly changed their minds.
Other bookmakers have decided to keep Susan Boyle in the running, as they believe the winner is more likely to come from the eventual X Factor winner. Paddy Power make Susan Boyle 7/4 to be Christmas No1 without X Factor, which appears to be the best value bet in this market.
