Celebrity Big Brother logoThe first eviction of 2012 Celebrity Big Brother left the bookmakers smiling after Andrew Stone upset the odds and was eliminated ahead of Georgia Salpa.

The Irish lingerie model had initially been favourite for elimination all week and was available at just 2/5 to be booted off the show as a large percentage of bets were being placed on her apparent imminent departure.

However, a period of depressing, self wallowing and attention-seeking melodrama from Pineapple Studios star Andrew Stone in the days leading up to the eviction saw an upset occur.

Stone had been ranked as far out as 7/1 to be evicted but his apparent decline in mood and activity around the house in the days and hours leading up to the eviction appeared to have cost him his place in the house.

Before the eviction, Ladbrokes was adamant that Salpa was condemned to being evicted. Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said "It would be the biggest shock in Big Brother betting history if Georgia escaped eviction. We've never seen such a high percentage of bets placed on one celebrity before."

It appears Salpa’s recent flirtations with The Only Way Is Essex star Kirk Norcross has left the audience wanting more and her survival to stay in the house has left many stunned.

However, the bookmakers are smiling after it is believed up to 80% of bets before the eviction were placed on Salpa to go.

After being evicted, Stone hinted to not totally being himself in the house. The dancer said "It's pantomime isn't it really? It was the most amazing experience of my life and I'll remember it forever.”

Natalie Cassidy remains favourite to win the show at 2/1 with Paddy Power. Denise Welch is close behind at 4/1 with Gareth Thomas in third at 6/1. Natasha Giggs and Nicola McLean are up for eviction this week after being nominated for the public vote by Salpa after her survival with McLean favourite to go at 4/9 compared to Giggs at 13/8 with Paddy Power.
