| CAP Euro 2008: Online gambling comes to London |
The Betastic team got an opportunity to attend CAP Euro in London - The premier networking event for the online gambling industry. With the promise of lots of parties and quite a few free beers, how could we resist.
Having missed the CAP Euro in Barcelona at the end of last year, we weren’t too sure how popular the London event would be. Could the rumors of thousands of visitors and wild parties be true?
The first few minutes at CAP Euro London put our worries to rest, and showed the immense popularity these conventions have picked up so quickly within the industry. The main floor was heaving, and all of the leading operators were there to answer our questions.
The event
The number of attendees and stands were massively increased over the previous year, and the event filled two huge areas of the Kensington Olympia conference center, as well as and auditorium for the guest speakers and expert panels.
There are various online gambling conventions held around the world every year, allowing gambling portals such as Betastic to meet the gaming operators and managers, to discuss tips and share ideas in the trade. Its also a chance to get a feel for how the market is doing, see what is lined up for the future, and check out upcoming new sites that have the potential to become the next big thing.

However, what we really should have showed you were the after-parties held every night. With such a great chance to network with the gambling heavy hitters, a bit of alcoholic assistance, and such great company from the promo girls who could say no!
Hat’s off to the organisers of all the parties this year, fantastic stuff. The many bleary eyes dotted around the conference floor in the mornings (including ours) were a sure sign of success!
For those already looking forward to Barcelona, it’s probably best to get booked up pronto. The guys down at Casino Affilliate Programs (CAP) have put together something of real value to the industry, it’s sure to be another hit!
